Unfolded Architecture

“Unfolded Architecture is a series where each work is made of drywall recovered from various museums, discarded pieces from specific exhibitions. These fragments have been reconfigured into flat rectangular formats, which refer in scale and composition to abstract paintings. Having previously been used to create three-dimensional spaces, the two-dimensional drywall structures perform an “unfolding” of the previous temporary architecture; an origami in reverse, on a grand scale."

Produced in the framework of the exhibition of the same name presented at the Museo experimental el Eco, this publication compiles several of the pieces and projects that make up this pictorial series by the artist Pablo Rasgado.
